Dear Mother Nature,
I speak for us all when I say you’ve been awfully stingy with snow. You play the favorites game like none other: you’ve given New England far more than their fair share, leaving little to none for Pennsylvania! Just this week, you’ve frozen our land with sub-20 degree weather—which I’m positive you know is considered below freezing—yet you refuse to accompany this frigid weather with snow. We are indignant about this treatment and demand that you send more snow during the week.
There are a plethora of reasons why you should grant this request. First and foremost, sending snow to us would increase the chances of a day off by tenfold. We are all swamped with work, and even just one day off could give us the opportunity to catch up. Moreover, it’s an opening to have a little bit of fun. Sledding, snowmen, snowball fights, snowboarding… the list of snow-related activities goes on. You have the ability to make these activities come to life, yet so far, you’ve refused.
Snow not only benefits the people it falls on, but also the ecosystem. I’m sure you know that it acts as an insulator for soil and plants, creates microhabitats for small animals, replenishes aquifers with the release of freshwater, and delivers nutrients to the soil. Snowfall would supplement the ecosystem and support the environment, and considering that’s your domain, would benefit you as well. Despite this, you still have not sent any down to Southeastern Pennsylvania.
I’ve made our case clear: we want snow. Even just a couple of inches would be sufficient! I see no reason why you should continue to deny Southeastern Pennsylvania snow considering the abundance of benefits. Please, Mother Nature, send us some snow.
Signed,
The People of Southeastern Pennsylvania
