As October arrives and the air turns chilly, the Unionville Wrestling Team is back with their annual Haunted Hayride Fundraiser. What started as a small event has now become one of Unionville's favorite fall traditions.
When asked what inspired the team to host the hayride again this year, Jon Ng explained, "We needed funding for tournaments, to increase participation, and to boost team morale." The event helps cover costs for the season, but it also brings the wrestlers closer together.
This year marks the third year of the Haunted Hayride. According to Charlie Robinson, visitors can expect "thrills, fun, and a little bit queasy." Between eerie decorations, spooky lights, and plenty of jump scares, guests are sure to get into the Halloween spirit.
The team and parents have been preparing for months. "Every Saturday since the beginning of September, the team and parents work vigorously to make the house and hayride as fun as possible," Jon said. The long hours of planning and building show how much effort the wrestlers put into making it a great experience.
Jon added that "everybody gets involved and participation and team morale has been really high." The hayride has become more than just a fundraiser; it's a way for the team to bond and connect with the community.
And if you're wondering what makes this year different, Charlie kept it vague, "You'll find out if you attend! Hint: it's involved with the hayride."
So, if you're looking for a fun way to celebrate Halloween and support Unionville's athletes, grab your friends and check out the Haunted Hayride. You'll be in for a good scare and a great time.
