What’s Next For Marching Band
By Ethan Childs
The regular season for high school football has come to an end, and with it goes the opportunity for the high school’s marching band to perform during halftime shows. Post-football season is a hectic, condensed schedule for the band—all leading to one final dance at Nationals. The national competition ran its course this past Saturday, November 8, and the performers put up an impressive score of 91.55—their highest of the season and placing them 8th in the division. “It’s really exciting to perform in an NFL stadium and interact with all of the competitive teams in the mall afterwards,” said senior Tyler Hill.
The band’s color guard counterpart continued their streak of winning best performance at nationals this year as well. But now that the marching band season is over, what is next for the performers? Many participants turn to indoor percussion, another instrument-oriented activity, to stay in competition-ready form all year. The color guard will continue to practice indoors during the winter months.
