Athlete of the Month: Brett Patroni
By Kush Aggarwal
Unionville senior Brett Patroni, an invaluable football player and member of the Unionville community, will play with Brown University’s D1 football program starting next year. Altogether, Patroni’s commitment and dedication to football make him the picture of a Unionville student-athlete.
Since age eight, Patroni has loved the game. He says he originally got into football because of his dad, who was a quarterback in high school. Over his high school career, Patroni has shown loyalty to the Unionville football program while maintaining an admirable academic portfolio. In fact, he says, “being a Unionville student-athlete has taught [him] how to manage his time and create personal plans for [himself],” juggling a busy schedule of games, practices, and schoolwork. Further, Patroni even asserts that sports have helped him learn how to control his schedule in a way that works best for him.
In the future, Patroni looks forward to starting at Brown next year. Specifically, he’s excited to “play college football at some of the most historic football fields” and to play against the most historic teams in the country. Indeed, Brown holds one of the oldest and most storied football programs in the nation, dating back to the 1870s. Thus, Patroni will no doubt be able to experience the history of Brown football.
Ultimately, Patroni’s qualities as a student-athlete demonstrate excellence both on and off the field. With his hard work and perseverance, Patroni will surely have a strong impact on the program and bring Unionville’s merit to Brown University.
